I chose Naegi because I love his nice guy personality and his charisma. Also, I like his character development and optimism too.
...also because he looks and reminds me of another 2 brown haired (not so) Ordinary High School Students with ahoges who are Shuu from Guilty Crown and Yumeji from Yumekui Merry~

Picking just one was tough because I really wanted to pick Mukuro because she's so interesting, but in the end I went with Aoi. She's a "ditzy fanservice" archetype without being a "ditzy fanservice" archetype—Oren described her as stealthily being the most complex character in the series once and I think I agree! There's a lot to her; she's weak but she's strong, and she's arguably the most determined character in the cast.
Mmman, I just really love Aoi.

I picked Leon. I'm not even sure why exactly I like him. We didn't really see enough of him in the story. I ended up really liking Souda from Dangan Ronpa 2 in much the same way, and the two seem kind of similar to me.

Oh no, Leon was my favorite right off the bat—he's such a humorously direct douchebag and I love it. Most of my liveblog of chapter one was yelling about how much I adored him and then yelling about how terrible everything was after the dying message came up. It's a shame he didn't get more screentime and development! umu

Just I guess in how completely blunt he is about everything? Like, there is no brain/mouth filter on that boy; he says stuff like "you don't even care how much you're embarrassing yourself do you" and "that was obviously an insult bro" and "we weren't expecting much from you anyway." His tactlessness is hilarious and I love it, though, no complaints.

I'd say there are certainly jerkier characters.
Alter Ego was also pretty awesome, especially when she saved Naegi.

I voted Kirigiri, though it's not like it wasn't already pretty obvious I love her simply from my username.
It was a hard decision to call her my favorite though, everyone in this game is so great in their own ways in my eyes.

I think I have three different favorites? They consistently changed as I read the LP. I loved Celes. I'm actually not one to immediately choose the dolled up gothic lolita sorts of characters-- it was her personality that won me over to begin with. I liked the airy and falsely pleasant air she was letting on and the whole idea that it was just a facade. It was sort of enjoyable to see her temper go off... I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't anything further to really explore with her, other than her dream and such. So after that, my favorites sort of transformed. And please don't punch me for saying this, but Yamada sort of grew on me over time.
Aoi! She's such a little lovable, donut-loving girl! Her development was spectacular, especially in Sakura's case. I liked how she actually expressed some sadness over her friends deaths, it was a relief to see. Sakura also grew on me over time... and so did Kirigiri, actually. I liked to see Kirigiri's background. And Naegi grew on me over time as well... and Togami. So my favorites tended to jump around a lot, but if I had to mark the two that tied for first, it'd be Celes and Aoi.
Of course, I also like Junko and Mukuro... But I should probably stop rambling on. xD I love a lot of the Dangan Ronpa cast, my favorites always jump around quite a bit.

I picked Kirigiri because she helps you out all the way through the game. Really disappointed nothing happened between her and Naegi in the game. Did Kirigiri make a "As long as I have Naegi by my side" comment at the end or was this my imagination?
